Two Good Ears Podcast
Two Good Ears with Rich Reardin is a podcast that explores the music world from every angle—introducing new artists, uncovering the people behind the music, and revisiting legendary stories. It’s a space for sharing experiences and perspectives, where conversations flow freely between musicians, producers, engineers, and passionate fans. The show grew out of In Search of a Song, a long-running public radio series created in 2005 with guitarist Jason Wilber (John Prine), which produced over 700 episodes for PRX (Public Radio Exchange).
Now, Two Good Ears (TGE) carries that spirit forward, expanding into fresh interviews, pro-audio insights, music history, and lively discussions with guest hosts and friends who have lived and breathed the art of making music.

TGE Episode 211 - Don Merckle
Join host Rich Reardin as he sits down with South Carolina singer-songwriter Don Merckle, a darkly honest and wry artist from Charleston. Known for his ability to blend rock and roll with smoky barroom introspection, Don's music reflects his roots in the mixed traditions of American sound. With a rich history leading the Appalachian/Irish group Loch Ness Johnny, co-fronting the Alt-Country band American Gun, and founding Don Merckle & the Blacksmiths, Don's current solo work highlights his thoughtful, emotionally charged lyrics. Having shared the stage with acts like Drivin' N Cryin’, Lucero, and The Avett Brothers, Don's songs capture the essence of roots music and rock and roll.
