Two Good Ears Podcast
Two Good Ears with Rich Reardin is a podcast that explores the music world from every angle—introducing new artists, uncovering the people behind the music, and revisiting legendary stories. It’s a space for sharing experiences and perspectives, where conversations flow freely between musicians, producers, engineers, and passionate fans. The show grew out of In Search of a Song, a long-running public radio series created in 2005 with guitarist Jason Wilber (John Prine), which produced over 700 episodes for PRX (Public Radio Exchange).
Now, Two Good Ears (TGE) carries that spirit forward, expanding into fresh interviews, pro-audio insights, music history, and lively discussions with guest hosts and friends who have lived and breathed the art of making music.

TGE Episode 213 - Jesse James DeConto
Join host Rich Reardin as he talks with singer-songwriter Jesse James DeConto of the band The Pinkerton Raid on this episode of the podcast. With their unique blend of dreamer folk and campfire pop, Jesse takes us on a journey through his eclectic influences—from Nordic forest legends to Broadway tunes turned football fight songs. Drawing from mysticism, Celtic lore, and the existentialism of Kerouac, Jesse’s music weaves together a tapestry of stories deeply rooted in history, politics, and nature.
Jesse shares insights into his background growing up in New England, his love for Liverpool and Laurel Canyon, and how his vibrant family shaped his sound. The Pinkerton Raid’s anthemic Americana has graced stages alongside artists like Noah Gundersen and Amythyst Kiah, and with their upcoming 2024 release of winter-themed covers, including a pop-noir version of Vince Guaraldi's Christmas Time Is Here, they’re set to captivate listeners once again. Don’t miss this conversation about music, culture, and the stories behind the songs!
